asshole(s) of the week!

But the more we seem to like selena, the more we dislike this utter craphole

Jocelyna has been avidly adding photos of selenachat members on this thread again,

http://foro.univision.com/univision/boa ... .id=381069 we have done our thing by reporting her to photobucket, now please, in masses, all of you do the same!

We’ve asked photobucket to ban her IP address, which according to them, is not possible! Have you ever seen a single website where deleting an IP address is NOT possible, especially when one is BREAKING the LAW by posting pics she doesn’t have any say/right to post. And especially a website where you have to be a MEMBER in order to USE the website. We think it’s total nonsense for them to claim they can’t remove or ban IP addresses

This is the photobucket site she posts the pics from (this time) http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb31 ... nachatsel/

These is a printscreen of the convo we had with photobucket “support” team about the Jocelyna issue.

Image

OH YES! What a great idear! Why didn’t we think of that! It’s a superb idea to go to Belgian law enforcement for a canadien copyright infringement who is using our photo via an American website..it’s not like there’s any red tape about that or anything

Who else thinks that it is totally outrageous that we have to sift through Her photobucket accounts over and over again so that SHE doesn’t make the mistake of (once again) using other people’s photobucket/other photos

If you see jocelyna posting any of your photos, please report her Fuckin ass to abuse@photobucket.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false and be sure to add the same picture (and if possible one other which “proves” that you are you and that she’s using your pic without your authorization)..because yes, in photobucket world, you have to prove that you are you, before other people can’t say you are you anymore…

Go figure…

our asylum pics are on our myspace

hey guys,

our asylum photos are finally up on our myspace..so we have a little question for you.

If yo'ure in one of the photos, please tag yourselves as we don't think we have even half the people we took a picture off on our myspace.

the pics of our autographs are in our autograph folder - the ones of us with guests should be in the "pics with us and celebs" folder (or something in that nature)

Asylum 3 - just a minipost

Hey guys

just a small post about Asylum 3, seeing we don't seem to have the energy to type everything down at the moment, we will post a report a report about the entire event later, incl. some pix we took and all.

We first wanted to say thanks to everyone at Rogue who made it all possible and worth while. Other than the Friday, we had a blast! (which we're sure you've heard before). All the staff, crew, people there, attendees and guests...It was AWESOME. We can't believe it's already a week away now!

Then we also wanted to say a big HIIII to everyone whom we met (or met again) and whom we spent our weekend with. Again, you guys are awesome (and funny how all belgian asylum-ers got to sit next to eachother on the plane home, que no?)

To the attending guests, thanks for being the awesome people that you are. Thanks for your sense of humor which made us sick of laughter (in a good way) and thanks for sharing some of your stories with us (Richard on BoB, Jensen on Danneel, ...) we loved it!

To the people carrying us in the airplane (meaning the people who flew us across the pond) ! Please decompressiure your planes better! especially on the smaller planes which looked so much like private jets! Next time, we're going for a gulfstream 4)

To our feet, thanks for littarly carrying us all weekend! We know we ...stood on you a lot LOL, and we appologize for any inconvenience. We hope you'll be back to your original form in no time LOFAO

To our hair. Thanks for being semi-acceptable in the weekend.

To the illness that started on the Monday prior to Asylum, thanks for being over on friday afternoon ;)

To ...Oh shush

more to come later..these were just the thank you's

support our cause (charity "carousel center for child abuse)

Hey Alls

Us and a couple of friends started a fundraiser to help "The Carousel Center for abused children" which is based in North Carolina, USA. Anually, the Center deals with 750 children who've sufered from child abuse. 75 percent of these children are aged 11 years old, or younger. In 2008, the most common age was only 6 years old!

These victims need a place where they can heal in a friendly and comfortable environment. That is why the Carousel Center was founded in 2000.

This is where you come in.

We have started a webstore from which proceeds will go to that center. Seeing that, healing a child costs an avarage of $1700 per child and companies such as Medicaid and others only reimburse $385, you might see why they need help.

Please take a moment to take a look at our website, from which - again- profits will benefit the Carousel Center for Abused Children in Wilmington North Carolina.

This is the link for the store.

You can make donations here!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

for the time being, please make out your donations to eveliendorien@gmail.com a bank account will be set up in a very near future, where we'll then transfer this money to as well. (don't worry, everything is double-, if not tripple-checked so no money will get lost)

please add "care 4 carousel" (or charity donation) as your extra note, so that we know what it's all for.

Thank you for your attention and kind heart.

For the past couple of weeks, we've been working on a website in all secrecy...and now we were wondering if people still had problems with the table outlining, picture outlining,...since that's been a huge issue that we've been trying to solve

Also, since its our first (real) website with own design...we were wondering what people thought about it all...

could y'alls please take a look and tell us if everything is okay on your pc?

After 3-arch episode, Jordana Brewster back for "Chuck"'s 2nd season finale!

After Jordana Brewster(-form)'s previous three-episode-arch on the ABC series "Chuck", askausiello now reports that Jill (JB's character) will return for the season 2 finale!

Just a little very short recap of Jill's storyline:

Chuck and Jill used to date at Stanford University. They broke up because Chuck "cheated" on a test and got thrown out of school.

A  few years later, Jill and Chuck meet again at a science fair and they start a relationship ...well kinda.
It turns out that Jill is actually an agent from a "rival agency" who are out to find out more information about Chuck and the agency he works for. She actually didn't break up with him cuz of his "cheating", but because she was instructed to do so by her "employers"
She escapes (with the help of a co-agent of hers) and Chuck feels terrible

voila...that was the short recap LOL
No specifics have been given on the season finale of "Chuck" (quite possibly cuz they want to keep it a cliffhanger of sorts), but JB will return as Jill.

After having seen the 3 episodes in which JB participates, we have now ordered ourselves the first season of "Chuck"...so we're pretty much going in blind LOL --- our DVD box with the first season should arrive any day now (possibly monday?)

Stay tuned! LOL

OTH's Chad's possibly not coming..so you pull the plug? selfish

This is in response to a "Leyton based petition" we saw online and to some things that have been bugging us about some shippers in general. We're not trying to generalise, but if we do sound like it, we appoligise. This is mostly aimed at those very sensitive people who cannot seem to look past Chad Michael Murray on One Tree Hill and have therefor asked to "pull the plug on everything" if he decides not to come back. Mild language warning

So we've been reading up lately, about Chad Michael Murray potentially not renewing his contract with One Tree Hill and the possible consequenses it could have for the show.

First off, the fact that he's not coming back is just a rumor. A pretty well based rumor, but still a rumor. There is still a chance that he migth sign on anyways, if they raise his paycheck or if someone's able to talk him out of leaving.

Then we read about this petitition to COMPLETELY PULL THE PLUG on the ENTIRE show if Chad leaves. This, to us sounds completely and utterly rediculous. whether it to be true or false... we kinda think its really selfish to make petitions like "if chad stops, everyone else should stop" (which is pretty much what this "petition" entails...)

Its not because Chad decides to leave that everyone of the cast and crew should do so to...Chad/lucas are important characters in the show ...but they are no longer the CATALYSTS that make the show running...

if Chad decides to leave, than that's his call...but this petition doesn't only put Chad out of work...it puts the entire cast and crew out of work...

Just because your "ship" won't exist anymore, that doesn't mean that the ENTIRE SHOW should suffer from it... Not everyone ships leyton (we actually don't ship anyone), not everyone thinks that Chad is the most important actor on the show ... People throwing a hissy fit like this over make-belief ships in a fictional show is just rediculous...

we know shippers can be really supportive of "their" couple, and we know it means a lot to everyone and we can respect that...but messages/petitions like this?
so selfish...(sigh)

Look, we understand how some people can get upset because x or y might not be in the following season or "endgame" as that dreadful thing is called. (we hate the term endgame), and it doesn't matter to us whether peyton ends up with Brooke or with Lucas, we honestly couldn't give a rats ass who ends up with whom.

The fact that people are actually signing petitions like this is, in our belief, very disrespectful towards the entire cast and crew that have worked very hard to make One Tree Hill be where it is today. Okay, the recent seasons have probably been one of the most "bitched upon one tree hill seasons" EVER, but that doesn't mean that, when one of the people decides not to come back, they can just want everything to be gone. Grow the hell up.

We're not even sure if we want a seventh season, but that's completely besides the point here. The point we're making is that IF there is a seventh season, it should not be deminished by Leyton fans (that's who the petition's aimed at) just because they don't get their F*cking ship to work out in the end. Again, grow up if you think that all the world evolves around your FICTIONAL love stories.

If Chad does decide to quit, again, it's completely his OWN decision. What happens to the rest of the cast and crew should be up to them as well, not upto some fans who can't deal with the fact that someone's leaving the show after 6 years to find himself another job. We're not trying to deminish any fangroups, or ships, or whatever else there is to find in the (sometimes overly sensitive and combattant) shipwars and tree hill fan community. They are all FICTIONAL characters, in a FICTIONAL town, with FICTIONAL storylines and MADE UP backgrounds. Get over it already..or better yet, get over your fucking selves already if you're that sensitive about it.

What's being asked (on the petition) pretty much resembles an entire movie being canned because one of the actors or actresses (who was supposed to have an important role) got sick and can't be there. BOO FREAKING HOO. You either move on without him, or you let the cast and crew (and CW) decide what's going to happen with the show.

Rant over for now..will possibly continue later

How Mark Schwah Evil-Stephmom's Danneel Harris --- a small fairytale-style-doodle by us :)

Okay..so we were thinking amoungst eachother (and ourselves) the other day that acutally, Mark Swahn is pretty much giving danneel the "evil-stephmom" approach -- pretty much like cindererella...eventhouh we haven't had any happy (prince) endings yet...

So...this little doodle is:

"Danneel Harris - the cinderella story"

ORIGINALL WRITTEN FOR: THE DHMB
ALTERED AND RE-EDITED FOR: EVELIENDORIEN'S LIVEJOURNAL
WRITTEN BY: EVELIENDORIEN, TWINZZ

starring:

Danneel Harris ------ cinderella
One Tree Hill ---- cinderella's dad
Mark Schwahn ------ evil stephmom
Greg Prange --- Stephsister 1
CW ----- stephsister 2
Danneel-back-on-OTH ----- happy prince-ending
Sophia Bush & Bevin prince ---- Just buddies of cinderellas
fans ---- Cinderellas pumpkin
Jensen Ackles -- real life prince

DOODLE:

Once upon a time, there was a (relatively) starting-out actress in Hollywoodland. Her (middle) name was Danneel and she was the prettiest in all the land....well...almost the prettiest..oh! and a brunette too.

The young maiden travelled from afar to reach her goal, all the way from Louisiana-town to Hollywoodland. She had finished college and her future was bright. Her path was filled with several difficulties and doubts. Would she be able to persue her dream? would they want to strike her down with every step up the ladder she took? Danneel knew not, didn't want to know.
Wherever she went, she'd just role with it -- or so she thought.

Her future looked brighter and brighter as she managed to get a part in a long-running television series. "Yes, I made it!" Danneel had chanted throughout the halls of her house as she had received the fortunate phonecall.

Her part in the series was only short lived, as the audience did not like the way the character was written into the show.

Danneel's happyness turned into sadness as she, once again, had to undergo the horrors of Hollywoodland.
One small role followed the other as she slowly started to make a little name for herself.

Then, another lucky call! -- Mark Schwahn, the producer of popular television show "One Tree Hill" offered her a contract for a few episodes in the 3rd season.
Danneel dyed her hair in the firiest of red and rode her horse all the way to Wilmington-city, a small fortified city in Northern Carolina.

Danneel intented to play her part with everything she had in her, at moments barely clothed, she persued the hearts of television-watchin America and that of many others.
Mark Schwahn saw the great things Danneel meant for his show, so behold! he gave her a contract for a complete fourth season.

The fans did like themselves some Danneel and things were looking up once again. Her character, Rachel, was embraced by fans as she befriended cheerleaders Brooke & Bevin. The portrayers of those roles, Sophia Bush & Bevin Prince, also found themselves entangled in a deep friendship with the now-fiery-redhead.

After an entire season of Rachel, fans could not imagine the show going on without her, Alas! faith decided differently. Danneels contract was not elonggated...
Fans started to become more and more disgruntled, as Mark Schwahn, Greg Prange and the other writers on the show were not writing in any Rachel storylines and that annoying Mouth kept interfering with any other decent storylines.

Danneel starred in a Online-hyped film called "Ten Inch Hero", in a role which required her to give the public (litterally) everything she had. Some were confused, others where thrilled. Overall, the movie was recepted which much praise throughout the world.
Danneel went to the first showing in Los Angeles, however found herself ducking for cover as a sexually explicit scene, with her in the lead role, came on the big screen. (as withnessed by other attendees...)

Then, the OTH writers had an idea. They wanted to keep their fans happy, so they decided to create a Rachel-storyline. "YES! lets make her a drug addict and have her dissapear under vague circomstances after 2 episodes! That's never been done before, original AND fun!" They thought as they started writing rapidly.

Once again, the fans liked how the character was portrayed -- however poorly they thought the writing to be!
As Rachel dissapeared from the show, once again, Danneel managed to get a foot inbetween the door at an audition and managed to get the role of Americas-favorite-stonette Vanessa Fanning in the stoner-flick "Harold & Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo Bay"

Viewers of the stoner-spectable found themselves to be at awe of the actress. Raving reviews of her performance where a nice changed to the not-so-raving-reviews for the entire flick.
Danneel did well, very well even...so well that she was awarded with the "Stonette of the Year" award for her role.

Danneel faired well in Hollywood land, as she managed to get a small part in the popular television broadcast "how I met Your Mother" and appeared on set of 3 different films.

Season 6 of One Tree Hill rolled on as more and more spoilers began hinting that Danneel might be able to make a comeback as a series regular.
However, dark clouds rained over the walls of Wilmington-city, when the spoilers that were released turned out to be, in fact, Foilers!
Fans throughout the world where outraged at the notrocity but didn't want to give up on their show...would there be any Rachel as the season progressed?

As season 6 reached its midseason hiatus, fans started getting upset. "Why can't they just write in Rachel? Must be better than the majority of the season has been so far"  they chanted in front of the CW castles. "Rachel = Love" they continued.
Fans weeped and whailed, but to no avail.

Then spoilers started to change. This time, Danneel was set to be a series regular after the hiatus was over. Good news!
However, due to the Foilers of the previous season, no one dared jumping or cheering. "Lets wait and see!" They said...

Up to this day, Danneel is yet to be called back for her role in "One Tree Hill".  The prince on the white horse might have come in real life (Jensen Ackles...) -- her steady role on the show is still to be questioned as we slowly march our way into the post-hiatus-season and the oncoming seasons.

Mark Schwan stays silent...as the evil stephmom in the actual cinderella story ...

and us, the fans, keep waiting ...but for how long?

an awesome xmas prezzie! PUPPYYY!!!

Okay, so it's not exactly a xmas present PER SE...BUT! Today, our mom walks up to us all quiet and our dad walks in and they say..."you know what... we're gonna go get a puppy out of the animal shelter soon"...

since we have been going like "'MOOOOOOMM, DAAAAAADDD, how about a new puppy" every time we saw dogs (in real life or on the tv)..we were like YAAAAAAAAYYYY! It's been almost 6 years since our dog (flush) passed away.and our parents always said "not even a fly would be a pet in this house anymore" (just for jokes, in the mean time we have 50 koi fish and 2 chicken (still named "Chicken 1 and chicken 2, because they still lack names)

So we're searching the internet right now for animal shelters and then we'll be getting a puppy whenever we either found one or when our parents have time to drive to the shelter..

WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

PUPPYYYYYYY

Our mom thought "dawg" was a cool name for the dog..but we'll see LOL

Also, do not be affraid to give us your personal opinion about the movie, our review (writing style…), what you’d wanna see next using the comment function on Jordana-brewster.org or the therefor created topic on the resident Messageboard.
Stay Tuned for more!

unfortunately, the counter on our website has began counting anew, for some misterious reason...it's still cool though LOL haha.

jordana-brewster.org -- reviewed by us

We have landed a new "job" LOL

In the next couple of days, the two of us (twinzz) will begin reviewing each and every single movie Jordana Brewster has been in so far, exclusively for http://www.jordana-brewster.org

Under the motto: a tad of serious, with a big zeste of twinzz - we’re critical, (usually) don’t follow other critics and we never compromise ..but in a good way we hope.

Starting with the 1998 sci/fi movie “The Faculty”, we will make our way up to Jordana’s most recent movies and tvshows.

We’ll do our very best to write the reviews with critical acclaim on each and every participant in the movie (incl. Jordana might we add), as we do with the moviereviews we write here on this LJ.

We hope you’ll like it too and that you will enjoy reading the reviews as they come up.

As this is (officially..) a review LJ, all posted reviews on J-B.org will also appear on this LJ, may it be with a link, or the complete review (we'll still have to see what fits best..)

Anyways, glad to be on board at JB-org :-)

Stay tuned.

Haloween night special, review for SEVERANCE! W/ Danny Dyer and Laura Harris

Halloween Review 2008 – the 2006 movie

Director: Christopher Smith

Cast: Danny Dyer, Laura Harris,Tim McInnerny,Babou Ceesay, Andy Nyman, Claudie Blakley,Toby Stephens, David Gilliam,Juli Drajkó & Judit Viktor

Written by: James Moran & Christopher Smith

Trailer:

Tagline: It’s alright to laugh about gruelsome death, really, it is!

Review ----------spoiler warning---------- the following review contains spoilers----:

So, let’s commence this review by saying that, normally, the two of us aren’t real fans of the hacker/slasher genre. Safe to say we didn’t really expect much of anything, let alone a movie which is credited to be both HORROR and COMEDY. It’s an unusual blend, which doesn’t actually work in 97% of the cases. There is a thin line between making a comedic horror flick and making a horror film stuck with satirical jokes. The timing has to be impecable, the humor has to be spot on and most importantly, even if it’s a film with a comedic twist, you can never let the viewer forget that it is, in fact, a horror film they’re watching.

Fortunately for Severance, they stayed on their side of the line. It wasn’t tasteless (to some aspect) and we even laughed at some of the goofs they put into it.

Severance is a movie you either LOVE, hate, or learn to love. It all depends on your own taste (as per usual-).

The movie starts of with some upbeat or ballet sort of music. The first thing you see is a couple of prostitutes running through different parts of the screen very fast. Not only are they running very fast, they are doing so barely dressed. Which alone, is a sign for some guys to go see the movie. As always, the stereotypical round-breasted Eastern-European women are used as an audience drawer. This is..until they fall into a man-made hole, which seems to be around 2-3 ft. Deep. (the people who made that hole sure must have had their muscles pumping!)

Not knowing what to do, the women quickly do what seems best for them. They take of their clothes. Luckily, a huge stem is also around, which they make good use of. They tie the clothes (well, the little they had on to begin with) onto the branch and throw it out of the hole, hoping that it will stick behind something, making their line solid enough to clime out!

But BEHOLD! A man appears on screen. A terrified man with a terrible dress code might we add. The man, seemingly out of breath, looks into the hole, appologising for not being able to get the girls out (FOR SHAME!). The man runs away and hits...a tree.  The funny thing about this scene is that the camera actually keeps going for another few seconds, making it seem like the camera was chasing the man and, only to the surprise of the camera man, did the man hit the tree.

Hereafter, the man is strapped upside down against a tree and another man appears. He’s wearing some sort of mask, and speaks Hungarian. This Hungarian man sticks a huge knife into the terribly dressed man. Blood streaming down his neck, a lot of blood. Maybe too much blood for one human body to cary. But it does make way for a wonderful visual.

This is the beginning of the nightmare. The beginning...of  SEVERANCE.

*sing* It’s all too beautifuuuuuullll

That’s how the movie begins.

As a nicely painted dark blue bus with orange logo creeps through the screen, the Small Face’s Itchycoo park is playing in the background.

The surroundings are only to be called beautiful. There’s a lot of green.

Let’s start with a small introduction of the characters, as they are also introduced to the public, during the first couple of shots inside the bus.

The main character’s name is Steve (Danny Dyer). He works for a company called Pallisade, which is a weapon’s company.

He’s the person that’s most out of control, eating mushrooms and taking drugs to get through the day. However, troughout the movie, Steve is a valuable asset in the survival game of the group. If it weren’t for him, several other members would’ve been killed either a lot faster or they wouldn’t have made it through at all. Danny Dyer does an excellent job portraying this character, and he is well casted. (Eventhough we’re not sure whether it’s completely Danny’s ‘fault’ that he did so well. He seems to be a little out of control himself from time to time.) He makes for an excellent lead. We love the fact that his character sort of goes through a transition. At first he’s this Fuck-Off-character who doesn’t seem to care about anything but himself (and his uppers) but he then slowly progresses to be more of a caring character. He evolves into more of a group person and it looks good on him.

The female lead’s name is Maggie (Laura Harris). She plays a mid-American girl who works for Pallisade as well.

In the beginning, Maggie seems a bit stuck up, like she doesn’t want to have anything to do with the rest of the people on the bus (especially Steve). She seems rather annoyed at everything he does, may it be taking pills, smoking weed or eating mushrooms loudly: “I’ll give you 50 dollars if you stop eating.” Leaving beside that an English bloke doesn’t have any use of a 50 dollar bill, it doesn’t exactly get him to stop eating the mushrooms in that very distasteful way. Throughout the movie though, she too makes remarkable transitions. She is equally good at selling weapons as she is in First Aid ‘I need something to tie up his leg.” And as a care giver: “Do you have any downers?” We grew to love this character. We do have a problem (well, maybe that’s a really big word...let’s say it shows) with the fact that Ms. Harris always seems to be playing Mid-American girls, while her accent (and yes, you do have one) screams “Canadian”. Nothing against the Canadian accent though, it’s cute in its richness and remarkable qualities. We’re just making a point in telling you this because we read some comments (we don’t know if they’re from Ms. Harris herself or from her many fans) that said that it doesn’t really show that this 30-someting-year-old bombshell has a Canadian accent. She might have been living in the States for 11 years, accents are a real bitch to get rid of. But we do like some of the lines she had, including “I didn’t want to be accused of not killing him while I had the chance”, which is a wink to other horror movies, where the first opportunity to kill the enemy is never the one where the enemy actually gets killed. Well done also, by both Danny and Laura, is the way they played it out. The next scene seemed like the ending of the movie (already). So when there was that big surprise, it blew us away!

We like Laura Harris’ acting in this flick. She brings forth a couple of commemorable scenes and the most beautiful picture of the entire movie.  But what the hell is up about all the issues of the woman’s weight? There seem to be a lot of jokes cracked towards Laura Harris’ weight, and we don’t see the fun. “Skelletor”, “What is everyone’s obsession with what I eat, I am not too skinny.” And most of all, the way harris (Toby) mysteriously finds a skelleton “by the generator” and Laura posing exactly like it in a later scene. Luckily, all buildings in a remote part of the world, in the middle of a deep forrest have a skelleton at their generator. It’s a number one priority! So remember people. If you ever move to a forrest in Hungary, Don’t forget your stack of bones!

Next there is Richard (Tim McInnerny). The leading man on the bus, and seemingly second in command of the corporation called Pallisade. He’s a bit stuck up, yet he doesn’t have any reason to be. Richard is the kind of leader you don’t want to have. Undecisive, credit-stealing and most of all, disregarding the wishes and thoughts of some of his closest collegues. You see him opening up more in the course of the film, not only finding out his love for cheese, but also finding out which of his fellow collegues he would like to...have intercourse with. Leaving room for some “one woman to another” jokes. He also turns into more of a leader (to some aspects) as his co-workers slowly push him to the edge. His personality slowly starts to crumble down throughout the movie, with a huge surprising bang in the end.

Here, it’s completely plausible to give a round of applause to the hair (ahum) and make-up department. You wouldn’t notice (all too much) that, in the movie, Tim McInnerny is wearing a toupet, a weave for men.

Next in line is Babou Ceesay’s character Billy. The quiet man of the group. Seemingly intelligent and romantic, seemingly very in love with Maggie. He’s sort of the brains of the group (and the only black guy in the entire movie, which says something about the diversity in the casting...-). Billy is one of the characters who is most seen standing up for both himself and the entire group. He opens up to Steve about his romantic feelings towards Maggie during a hide-out at a paintball match. Every once in a while, his strong character, along with his insecurities come through. Together with Laura Harris, Babou is part of the most beautiful, heartfelt scene of the movie. The way Babou portrays this character is impeccable and totally credible. Especially if you know that this was, in fact, Babou Ceesay’s first feature film role!

Gordon (Andy Nyman) is a funny little man (proving quotes as “No rambo’s, absolutely no rambo’s” and “If one of those things hits you in the eye, it will pop like a ping pong boll”) . He seems to be one of those yes-nodding employees, which he kinda is. But there’s also a lot of depth in this character. There’s something eery about the way his character is set up from the very beginning. Whenever you see him on screen, you start thinking “this is the part where he’s gonna die”. However, his torture scene seemed a bit out there and short. We had hoped that the character (yes, he dies) would have been given the sort of untimely death. His jumping diving board and serving pie days are over after just a short scene. Dissapointing. He does, however, have the most positive walk about him. Never seen a man walk like that before, only when they have to go to the bathroom.

Toby Stephens plays “Harris” in Severance. Taking on this job because “he had never done a horror movie before” was probably the last thing he should’ve been thinking. There’s a lot of things we didn’t like about Toby Steven’s acting. His character is an uptight employee of Pallisade who’s in charge of sales. This means he sells weapons. His entire “grizzle” seems to be fake. There seems to be little to no empathy or sympathy inside this man. However later he opens up a bit towards the character of Claudie Blakley. (He did kinda look like Damian Lewis, that other Canadian who played Dick Winters in the band of brother series...) Everything about the way the character is portrayed felt wrong to us. The way he smiled after his head was chopped off, this fake bad boy attitude. Luckily, he dies.

Last but certainly not least is Claudie Blakley’s character “Jill.” Jill is one of those nervous types. She always sounds so affraid when she speaks! But Claudie did a good job. Especially since we found out that her, being douzed in gasoline, was actually her being douzed in gasoline. Most actors would’ve either gone for stunt double or water being douzed over them, but not Claudie! Eventhough her death certainly is the most memorable and painful of the entire crew (okay, maybe the man that had a knife up his ass had more to suffer than Jill, but that was a bad guy, which makes it totally acceptable). Poor Claudie had to walk around the house with a mini tarantula on her back, despite her Arachnophobia. She even had to hold the thing in her hand...such bravery we can only applaud! For the limited time she was actually in this film, she did a good job in portraying Jill.

So, we guess that’s about it...our review for the film.

We kid, we kid, offcourse we’re not done. We’re only at 2000 words, which is far too few, considdering our track record.

Speaking of tracks, that’s the way this movie continues. After a short busride, the road is blocked and they are forced to continue their way on foot. Not knowing whether Hungary is “bear country”, they go into the forrest, folllowed by a nice scene with an actual bear. Eventhough the scene itself was kind of redundant, it did make for some nice footage.

But we’re running ahead of ourselves. We’re still at the coach. We totally forgot Laura Harris’ character being intertwined with a possibly urinated jeans and her being faced with the male organs of Danny Dyer. Yes, you did completely miss that if you haven’t seen the movie. But now, we’ve covered that, and we’re going on with the review.

After Danny’s... natural side came peeking through, he is forced to walk along with the group with a very long rope. We don’t know how they got the rope, and we don’t know why they brought it, but seeing that, later in the film, they magically wish for hamer and nails, and they find just that, we’re gonna leave it open for interpretation. But it, again, makes room for some quality performances. Both from Danny Dyer as the one who’s being strapped on the rope, as Laura Harris, the seemingly annoyed character who does actually seem to enjoy the moment of power she has over Dyer’s character. –S&M much?

When the group arrives at the, what is to their belief, Luxery lodge, which Pallisade had purchased just in time for the trip, there seems to be nothing wrong. Other than the fact that the lodge isn’t exactly as luxurious as the leaflet said it would be, they all decide to make the best of it and make peace with their situation, only to agree that something will be done by the next day.

Later that night, Harris finds some Pallisade documents, which are conveniently located near the generator as well (if you gotta find/store something, the message seems to be that the generator is the best option!) which indicates that some deranged lunatics are in play. The characters later come to the opinion that all of it is corporate hearsay or a conspiracy.

Slowly but surely, insecurity and fear creep up on you. This is the moment when the movie starts getting that darker feel of a horror movie. The time when you’re like “okay, now, they’re gonna die.”

The way the characters are written which so much depth is pretty good for a horror movie. They’re very well develloped. Also, location wize, they did something really clever. Part of this movie was shot in (obviously) Hungary, and another part was shot at the Isle of Man, in the UK. They made some smart scenes where one part is the Hungarian forrest and the other part, with only a slight transition, is the IOM. Same with the cabin they were staying at, where the shots at the first floor were all shot in the IOM, where the ground floor was in shot Hungary.

We could very much appreciate the humor in this film. Eventhough, maybe it was a little much to have a rocket launcher shoot down an airplane. It was even a bit much that George (David Gilliam) brought a rocket launcher with him on retreit to a wood in Hungary. We liked the subtle jokes and we loved the in your face jokes. Potentially, the most funny part was Gordon on his diving board. We liked the romantic hints, just because it was so obvious that Maggie had a thing for Steve.

We loved the casting of this film. Dyer and Harris make a great on-screen couple. If they would’ve had another person play either of their characters, we fear that much of it would’ve remained lost in translation. Thankfully, we’ll never know.

The way that music is sometimes ironically pared with some of the scenes is absolutely hilarious, yet it doesn’t feel at all inappropriate. When Steve and Maggie are fighting and holding on for dear life, the sort of ballet music that comes together with maggie killing one of the bad guys (okay...maybe the fact that Laura Harris’ stone carrying is also hilarious) with a boulder was great. Steve, not getting pissed off at someone kicking him down with a rifle, yet being totally aggravated when someone yanks out his precious tooth was hilarious. We don’t like seeing people being douzed in gasoline and being set on fire, yet it’s also in this film.

One thing we have to say though. When Laura Harris’ character is tied up you can hear her yell “Steve, He’s coming!” However, if you hear her say it, it sounds more like a woman giving birth in a delivery room than someone actually being under a great amount of stress.

One thing we didn’t like, though, was that the entire movie had little to no diversity in it. We know that it’s a movie set in Eastern Europe. And that there are much more caucasian people living in Eastern Europe than there are Chinese people, Black people or what have you, but there were, all in all 2 black people in the entire movie. And that IS counting the guy in the corporate video at the beginning! All the Hungarian women were bombshells and, once again, led to believe that everyone in Hungary is a horny prostitute with breast implants and a weave. Just to burst some bubbles NOT EVERY WOMAN IN EASTERN EUROPE has big boobs, breast implants and a weave. They constantly use it in every film and it makes for great stereotypes, we know. But sometimes it’s just too in-your-face and tiring. No wonder many Americans thing Eastern Europe is some sort of sex paradise. They are shown nothing else. Nobody every seems to be interested in the real Eastern Europe, which is nothing like anything they ever show in the movies.

On the other hand, the large deal of strong woman did make this up a little bit. Especially the scene in the end, where the two prostitutes are sort of rambo-ing their way through the scene and save the day, leaving poor Steve and Maggie to rest on the ground in their bowt. We’re sorry..that’s our Canadian accent popping through. You know how it goes when you have relatives living in Canada (which we’re sure of..we just don’t know them personally and have never been in Canada before)

All in all, this movie is definatly worth seeing, if you haven’t already. It’s widely available online in all region codes and the dvd has a crapload of extra’s on them, (WE LIKIE!). We believe it are just a little under 2 hours worth of extras!

The soundtrack: not found L

Dorky Brewster's Chuck - Jordana Brewster (Form) guest spot on NBC series

So ... we probably should've posted about this a long time ago...but we forgot about it (sue us LOL) ...

so here's some more info on Jordana Brewster's appearance on Season 2 episode 6 and 7 of NBC's "Chuck"

Now...don't get offended by the title of this here post ... Its just in reference to the promo pix that were released by NBC..

examples:

Eventhough Ms. Form (note by us: Jordana Brewster is married to "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"-producer Andrew Form) looks great in the glasses ...we do think that the rather thick edges could've been a tad smaller .. ofcourse, that's just our personal idea (and an idea for the make-up dept. of "Chuck LOL) ... hence them making her look kinda ...dorky (in the most loving kinda way ...dorky can be cute LOL)

Can we be one of the many (on this one, we WILL follow the masses) and applaud Jordanas hair & make up on the episodes? She is one of the few that we actually like with Bangs.

Other than the too thick specs...we think the H&M and wardrobe dept. did an impecable job in the outfits they chose...eventhough we might have to wait on announcing our big "hoooraaay's" until we've actually seen her moving in the outfits (so ..until we've seen the episodes)

One TAAAADDDD of a thing though...

We do believe that the Hair & make up dept. of "Chuck" kinda went looking elsewhere for their ideas on her hair and make up ...

The reason why we say this is because this promopic of "Chuck":

Kinda made us remenise about a scene of that other great flick she was in (and which eventually ended up in us becoming fans of the woman) - "D.E.B.S."

look formilliar?

Anyways ... here is some more information about Jordana's episode of "Chuck"

Official Summary of Episode 6 - Chuck vs the Ex: premieres on Monday, November 10th.

In an attempt to save face, he lies to the girl who broke his heart and tells her that he is more successful than he really is. When Chuck flashes on Jill’s boss—a research scientist who may have developed a deadly bio-weapon, he, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) must find out if Jill is involved. Meanwhile at the Buy More, Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence) nearly chokes to death, which leads company efficiency expert Emmett (guest star Tony Hale) to implement a mandatory CPR course taught by Captain Awesome (Ryan McPartlin). Sarah Lancaster, Scott Krinsky, Vik Sahay, Julia Ling, Mark Christopher Lawrence also star.

Official Summary of Episode 7 - ‘Chuck vs the Fat Lady‘ airs on Monday, November 17th

The two lovebirds plan a weekend getaway but have to cancel at the last minute when Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) inform Chuck that he is needed for an immediate mission to find corrupt agents in the CIA. Jealousy erupts when Jill finally meets Sarah and learns that Chuck and his handler must pose as a couple. Chuck does his best to reassure Jill that his relationship with Sarah is purely business but only finds himself in more trouble when his mission does not go as planned. Meanwhile, corporate efficiency expert Emmett (guest star Tony Hale) is out to get Chuck and interrogates Morgan (Joshua Gomez) to get some dirt on his best friend.

special ANNOUNCEMENT and PLEA from TIH director DAVID MACKAY

MESSAGE FROM DAVID MACKAY... DIRECTOR OF TEN INCH HERO!!!!! - please do as he says!

As the director of TEN INCH HERO I am really saddened by the links out there that offer up a download of the movie from Sweden or Portugal. If this continues the film will not be released in the US! This means you will never be able to own or rent a DVD that works on your DVD player at home, or your laptop in the US. You will never get to see the film in its finest, most beautiful form and you will never appreciate all the hard work we went through to entertain you. If we CAN put a stop to this, the film will be released in the US in a few months. If not, the US distributor will drop it.

Thank you for your help in stopping this pirating. It only serves to hurt the star (Jensen) who I suspect you are trying to support.

Regards,
David

Movie review: "Meet Dave"

movie "Meet Dave"

Tagline: Always listen to the little guy inside you!!!

By: Brian Robbins (Director), Rob Greenberg (writer) and Bill Corbett (writer)

With: Eddy Murphy (Dave Ming Chen/The Captain), Elizabeth Banks (Gina Morrison), Austyn Myers (Josh Morrison), Gabrielle Union (NO 3 - cultural officer), Scott Caan (Officer Dooly), Ed Helms (NO 2) and Pat Kilbane (NO 4 - security officer)

Trailer:

REVIEW:

So, after this small summer Hiatus, we're back in full gear with reviewing movies and tv shows (hopefully, we will get some more soon). We'll start off our new reviewing season with a light headed comedy: "Meet Dave" (also known as: "Spaceship Dave")

We actually didn't have much to go on when we went to see this movie. We had seen the trailer and we were bored, which was all we needed to decide for it to be our next project.

Because we are usually quite negative about most movies with Eddy Murphy, we didn't really expect much of this movie. We pretty much just hoped that it would't be one of those horrible movies where Eddy Murphy tries to take on all the roles at ones ("Norbitt" anyone???) ..those usually fail miserably!
Our disgruntled feelings about the forever-ongoing commercials at the movie theatre didn't really add up to the exitement as the lights went out, seemingly slower than usual (they really seemed to be taking their time today ...)

We were surprised to find ourselves laughing starting the second scene in the movie! The first scene had gone by pretty fast and could have been left out completely in our opinion - they pretty much gave a big part of the movie away with that 20 second scene.
At the second scene, the one where Dave arrives on the planet, there's a hilarious part where he tries to "manouvre" himself to walk like humans do - eventhough it is pretty usual and the writers/director were obviously trying to earn some Brownie-points by using a scene like that to establish the first laughs of the film, it actually works out very well in this particular flick.

The basic idea behind the movie is pretty simple. Some miniature-human-like-aliens come to earth in their spacecraft. The spacecraft looks like an ordinary man and is controlled by the captain of the crew from within the head. They come to earth to save their planet Nil. Aperantly, Nil is a florishing planet from another solar system but it has a lot of problems with its energy flow. They need seawater (more precise: the salt from withing sea water) to restore their planet's energy level. For that reason, a water absorbing orb is sent to planet Earth but ends up in a little boys room. The space crew is ordered to find the orb and absorb all of the Earth's sea water with it, which will mean the end of mankind but a new beginning for the planet Nil.

We will start with the main character, "The Captain" (and "Dave Ming Chen") - played by Eddie Murphy. We are glad to see he didn't feel the need to change his wardrobe and to portray every character in the movie (Eddy Murphy as Gabrielle Union would make a sight for sore eyes...). The thing in which Murphy succeeds really well in this movie is the fact that he portrays the spaceship (Dave) as a completely blank canvas. One thing that was really important in the performance was that "Dave" is in fact a machine, and therefor not able to show any true emotions (other than the ones that are shown to him by its master, in this case "the captain"). The moments where Dave isn't controlled by the captain seemed to go off so easy on the emotionless-Eddy Murphy, for which we applaud him!
As always, he uses a variety of facial expressions to add to the comedy of the movie. We are glad to find that Eddy Murphy has gone back to his roots of acting (to the kind of acting where he actually was successful and didn't have to fear to earn a Razzie every single year because he felt the need to dress-up)

There are a lot of reasons for random laughs throuhout the movie. Eventhough (as mentioned before) a lot of cheap and easy jokes are used during the movie, they (most of the time) find a way to portray it in a way that you either don't expect or that is completely misplaced for that scene or particular character that it makes it funny on itself. One of those funny things is the name they come up wih for the spaceship. When Gina (the mom) asks for the name of the spaceship, the little aliens don't have a name for it yet. For that reason, the cultural officer (Gabrielle Union) pulls out a list with the most used names from the planet Earth ... which apperantly is "Ming Chen" - When Gina tells him he looks more like a Dave, they decide to add that name to it. ("That happens to be my other name)...so his full name becomes "Dave Ming Chen"

One thing that bothered us a little were the 2 police officers. Not only because of their obvious uselessness, but also because the actors seemed to be lacking a sort of enthousiasm when they were portraying these characters. Their faces (especially that of Mike O'Malley) seemed to be lacking any kind of emotions. A part of that is saved by the performance of Scott Caan, who's acting performance seemed to be improving from the moment he finds one of the little guys in his coffee. (eventhough honesty does require us to mention that he didn't have THAT much to do after that...)

We really enjoyed Gabrielle Union's performance as the "cultural officer" (AKA: NO 3) of the ship. her acting seemed to fit the script really well and we can only applaud in the different facial expressions and voices she used during the film. The character seemed to be really written out completely and you could see an obvious change between the "NO 3" of the beginning and the more earthy-NO 3 ("she's got a fat ass")

Much to our amazement, Marc Blucas didn't seem to be that much of a bother througout the movie (again..he doesn't say much). We have known Mark (not personally ofcourse! acting-wise) since his performance on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and so far he has been able to annoy us in each and every movie he appears in. That's why we were surprised to see that we didn't completely hate his character "Mark" (convenient right?). The character brings a nice balance between the relationship between Dave, Gina and Josh and the random "hello's" with Dave are just funny

Sorry to say but Austyn Myers didn't really have a convincing performance if you ask us. Yes, we agree - He's still very young and still has a lot to learn - but for us he didn't portray with that little more zeste. There was so much more to the little boy in the film than the way Austyn performed him.

One of the highlights of the movie MUST be Pat Kilbane's performance of "NO 4" (the security officer inside Dave). It is just too funny when his character goes from "tough guy" to "Queer eye for the straight guy" (no, we are not trying to be negative against the gay community, for those who'd want to raise the question ... but its the thruth!").
Little tip: if you want a Salsa teacher, give Mr. Kilbane a call! He was awesome while explaining it in the movie and it still brings a smile to our face just thinking about it!!

All in all, we were very (pleasantly) surprised about the way the movie turned out. It was better than we imagined when we walked inside the theatre.

THE SOUNDTRACK (available at amazon)

Our score: 6.5/10
Mood about movie: pleasantly surprised!

Recommended for: People that love a good laugh, Eddy Murphy fans, families (with kids)
Not reccomended for: (obviously) people that cannot stand Eddy Murphy, people that don't like movies with simple comedy

This concludes our review for "Meet Dave"

Stylista
9/8c

The fall TV season is starting early this year, so we won't have to wait quite as long for some of our favorite shows. One Tree Hill fans, we're totally thrilled that we don't have to wait until January like last season! This year, OTH is among the first to premiere.

The first week of September will pack a punch with the potent pair of Gossip Girl and OTH kicking things off, followed by the highly anticipated two-hour premieres of 90210 and America's Next Top Model. Privileged stands alone with a premiere the following week. Then Smallville and Supernatural return a few weeks later, and fans of the comedies will have to wait until early October. The last premiere is Stylista -- we're a bit surprised to see it premiering so late in the game.

Reaper fans, however, are still left hanging -- the network has yet to announce when the drama returns. Same thing with new drama 13 (the title has been updated to 13 -- Fear Is Real).
